Scholars attempt to document every aspect of sport management and turn it into a science. In the past, sports administration typically worked in the public sector, and sports managers worked in the private sector: presently, there is very little distinction between the two. Sport is a product that is consumed as quickly as it is produced (perishable product, viewed in real time) It is not guaranteed to produce consumer satisfaction. Consumer decision-making process: need recognition, search for information, evaluation of alternatives, purchase decision, post-purchase evaluation. Sport enterprises earn a significant amount of revenue from sources other than ticket sales concessions, parking and merchandise.
