Both placebo and antidepressants highly effective at treating depression, only a clinical significance between placebo and antidepressants in highly severe depression levels. Placebo tends to lose effectiveness as severity of depression increases, antidepressants remain constant; the drugs used to treat depression are effective, but for many, it"s not the active ingredient that"s making people feel better.
