According to the world health organization, health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Short life span, not due to disease or illness, but mainly because not having enough food. Everything that was done was to sustain life and survive. The enlightenment was a period that saw an embrace of democracy, citizenship, reason, rationality, and the social value of intelligence (the value of information gathering). These ideas provided important underpinnings for public health. o.
