Life is a progression: when one is a child, it has a predominant effect on loved ones and caregiver. It doesn"t mean that there can"t be an reduction in their quality of life but their impact is on the parents. Where are we headed in the weeks to come: definition of quality of life . No perfect definition of qol because it is made up of so many dimensions: origins and evolution. Dynamic process: conceptual, and definitional expansion, limitations evolving from the medical model, extensions in application and explorations, some current data, where we stand currently. People are not clinical entities, they are people: respect them. Sometimes individuals are identified as what their diagnostic is: respect their families, respect their response to crisis, respect their fear, respect them and do not judge them. People don"t choose to be sick and they make mistakes.
