Dysfunctional families: interactions inhibit psychological growth, negative interactions are the norm, children of alcoholics, survivors of abuse. Jealousy in relationships: overdependence on the relationship, high value placed on sexual exclusivity, severity of the threat, low self-esteem, fear of losing control.
