Document Summary

Because heart is attached to the diaphragm the heart will move up and down as the diaphragm moves up and down. Where the borders intersect: shows the corners of the heart. Use these points to listen to the valves of the heart. Diagram of the heart which shows where you can detect sounds from the heart. Sound of the valve is carried by the flow of the blood. Aortic semilunar valve: when the valve closes the sound is carried out to the upper right corner this is where we would listen. Pulmonary semilunar valve: carried to the upper left of the heart. Tricuspid valve: into the rv, sound at the right corner. Mitral valve: hear at the apex of the heart. Crisp sound if close properly, but if not closing properly we will hear a murmur: heart murmur detected with oscillation: look at valves and sound.
