The heart consists of 4 borders, 4 corners, a base and an apex. Inferior border: right border mostly the ra. Inferior border mostly the rv and a bit of the lv: left border mostly lv, superior border associated w the great vessels, 4 corners. Upper right corner 3rd right costal cartilage, at sternum. 5th intercostal space, at mid clavicular line right. It has an outer fibrous and an inner serous component: the fibrous pericardium attaches the pericardial sac to different structures.
