Document Summary

Gallbladder stores bile from liver, 2 lobes to liver (left and right), this bile comes from r/l hepatic ducts. Hepatic ducts: bile from liver to gallbladder, they fuse to form common hepatic duct, then bile travels down and branches to go through cystic duct to gall bladder (has neck, body and fundus) When bile needed, muscular gallbladder will contract and send bile down common bile duct (see diagram) Between stomach and rest of small intestine. Pancreas behind peritoneal cavity duodenum fell back and is covered by this layer. Liver is largest organ in body minus skin. So all of liver covered by peritoneum except for tiny area at top because of development that part is in direct contact with the diaphragm. This falciform ligament as well as attaching the liver forward to anterior body wall also helps separate liver into two major lobes right and left separated by the ligament (actually 4)
