Lesion in the top right quadrant of the cervical spinal cord. Lowe half of the body on the same side will have a loss of sensation. Lesion of the left pons that includes the medial lemisus. Loss of sensation in the entire contralateral side of the body. Cell bodies are in the dorsal root ganglia. Distal part of the axon terminates out on the receptor/skin. Proximal part of the axon goes into the spinal cord. Axons synapse in the dorsal horn right at the level where they enter the spinal cord. No synapse in the touch pathway goes up through the gracille or cuniate fasciculus medulla. Nociception pathway information decussates and crosses the midline right away. Ascends through two pathways lateral and ventral spinal thalamic or an anterior pathway. Crosses the midline at the anterior white commissure. Second order neuron crosses the midline and ascends through the lateral and ventral spinothalamic/spinoreticular tract.
