Think about what would happen with different types of damage in spinal cord. Ex have spinal cord injury that involved right upper quadrant of cervical spinal cord: what would you expect gonna be lower side of body ipsilateral (same side) that will have loss of sensation. If you reach out and touch someone that"s the path(cid:449)ay you (cid:449)ill a(cid:272)ti(cid:448)ate (cid:894)(cid:449)here, pressure, thi(cid:374)g that"s tou(cid:272)hi(cid:374)g(cid:895) Not only level of info that reaches consciousness also nociception (pain) reaches brain differently (pathway is different than tactile) pain vs conscious touch. The proximal part of axon goes into spinal cord (unlike pathway we looked at), the axon synapses in dorsal horn right at level they enter spinal cord.
