Document Summary

If you think of the rib cage it provides protection for your heart, lungs, etc. So connective tissue are very important sites where metabolites, waste products, oxygen, amino acids and things are passed through the cells. Its function is to join, support, and provide structure for tissues and organs. It mediates exchange of nutrients, metabolites, and waste products between tissues and the circulation. When we consider the cells many different ways we can study how cells are. In centre picture there are 4 different types of connective tissue in this one section here. This is the section through the base of a tooth where the roots are. On right red part is one type of connective tissue (mesenteric), then have blue ligament which joins the tooth.
