To study the material character of everyday life, the things we surround ourselves with o viewing technology as material culture means that we understand culture. We understand the world as having a material presence that in turn help form as a process of acting, making and doing our culture. It is never just about the things themselves. The knowledge that is necessary to create technology. It is about who is making and using the item, the bigger question being why. The interaction between humans and nonhumans, what kind of nonhuman actors can present in the development of technology: something that can be inhuman are geography, the climate and the machines that are used to make the certain thing. The way they set forth meaning/intent in society.
