Lectures will go through, in depth, a few key themes that are discussed throughout the textbook (small, but highly integrated subset of the field). The textbook will provide support and background information for all the different fields and disciplines of psychology. The reading list doesn"t necessarily follow along with the lectures it is a suggested list to help keep you roughly on track with what"s happening in class. Part of learning about psychology is learning about methods, ethics, and the whole process of research from the other side, that of participants in actual psychology studies. Extrinsic motivators: gold stars, punishment, title, levels, discipline, money, rewards. Intrinsic motivators: self-knowledge, how well they satisfy you or help you express who you really are, learning, purpose, passion.
