The police culture: core values: we are the only crime fighters. Police officers have to stick together because everyone is out get us: a us against them persona, a paranoia about outsiders from the group of police. It is impossible to fight crime effectively without bending the rules. The police culture: core values: the media and members of the public are generally unsupportive and quick to criticize the police. Nobody likes the police -- unless they need one: nobody likes the police, except when there is a tragedy or a shooting, patrol work is the pits. 1: that everyone wants to become a detective, that ambitious people wouldn"t want to be a parole officer all their life. Don"t leave work for the next tour: they went with police and watched them, but it is an old study and there are different cultures in police departments, do we have to do studies on each special case.
