Police association is not equal to the police. Police association promotes and works for the interest of the police service. The police service works for the interest of the public. Distinguish between statements made between police service and police association. Most of us get our knowledge of police through fictional representations, or the police themselves, who create an ideal depiction for themselves as an organization through mass media. We don"t actually know how they actually are, we don"t know their true natural occupational role, but a distorted, warped, image. Everyone is responsible and involved in some sort of policing. The police are not the only ones who carry out policing. We as people involved in society, police in a daily basis whether its formal or informal. The police however, is given right by the state, to use coercive force to maintain and reproduce social order.
