Document Summary

Midterm on thurs will only cover up to last thursday. This will be reviewed again here in this section, but newer concepts will be covered. Match processes that take place in and with the parts of cell. Recog techniques used in diff types of experiments. This is a budding yeast - a single celled eukaryote. Has same basic functions found in multicellular organisms. Body has 200 distinctive like skin, lung, epithelial in stomach. Should have a general understanding of all parts shown below. Focus will be on lysosome and extracellular matrix. These are animal cell specific (in blue box) Lysosome: functions in degradation of cell parts that are no longer needed. Extracellular matrix (ecm): specialized material outside of the cell. Very specialized and specific, rather than anything floating around. Other organisms can have stuff outside, but here it"s very specific. Green box = not found in animal cells.
