Document Summary
Animal cells do not have cell walls, but single celled organisms sometimes do have a cell wall which helps protect them from their harsh environments. --a lot of organization happens within the cell. --lysosome helps digest material and also dead organelles. --plants have structures which you can identify under the microscope which aren"t in animal cells. --the vacuole" which takes more than 1/3 of the plants total cellular volume is a fluid filled area said to provide turgor pressure against the cell wall giving the cell rigidity(hence when its dying it flops over) --digestion of products also occurs but not in a lysosome like the animal cell. --cytoplasm is the contents(ex organelles) of the cell outside the cell nucleus. --cytosol is the aqueous part of the cytoplasm that doesn"t include those membrane bound organelles. --lumen is the inside of an organelle (the inside aqueous environment)
