Document Summary

Epithelial tissue lines cavities, lines organs and lines surfaces. The basement membrane is a specialized membrane matrix. In the dermis cells are very spaced out. In the epidermis they are iv very close contact. Only some cells are in contact with the basement membrane. Intergrins help your cells interact with the ecm. Glycoproteins are proteins with any type of sugar. One of the sugars is an amino sugar, it has a n on it. They can form gels because hey attract na and water. All proteoglycans are glycoproteins, but ther reverse is not true. There are 2 disulide bonds at the c terminus. Ecm is secreted by the cells in the tissue. The first 3 are all present in epithelial cells, but they can also be present in other cells.
