Independent cultures focus on understanding individuals, and interdependent in about understanding nature of relationship. Efficacy implies a sense of control on outcomes. Feel we are in control of our destiny. Independent is more focus on individual, and interdependent is control over harmony, relationships and interactions. Independent feel a sense of agency when they have influence on situations, their outcomes. Interdependent feel greater agency when they adjust and adapt to situations. Motive same but way we reach is different. Independent enhance self more than others, subjective self awareness. Interdependent are more critical, don"t have illusions but it also fits in with the idea that they are okay with having opposites.
