Document Summary
Behavioural assessment: involves the collection and analysis of information and data in order to: Select appropriate treatment strategies to modify the behaviour. A successful behaviour modification program typically involves four phases during which the target behaviour is identified, defined, and recorded: Provide specific information about which behaviour(s) should be assessed. Determine the level of the target behaviour prior to treatment intervention. Designing of a treatment program to bring about the desired behaviour change. E. g. training or teaching program in educational settings. Conducted to determine whether the improvements achieved during treatment are maintained after the program"s termination. May be used when it is impractical or impossible to observe the client in the situations in which the target behaviour occurs. When covert behaviours are the target of intervention. Behaviour modifier can directly observe the behaviour of interest. Role-playing: client and therapist enact interpersonal interactions related to the client"s problem.
