Document Summary

Science discovery of something new and unknown. Knowledge is collected through the scientific method. E. g. bio the study of living organisms. When prediction based on hypothesis is tested and shown to be correct we identify the hypothesis to be supported but not proven . Cuz there might be other unmeasured/unobserved reasons why the prediction was correct. Observation 1 fruits and veggies contain much vitamin c. Observation 2 people with diets rich in fruits generally are healthier. Observation 3 vitamin c is an anti-inflammatory agent reduces throat and nose irritation. Consuming vitamin c decreases the risk of catching a cold logically derived based on observations. Deductive reasoning general principle to predict an expected observation if prediction is true. Collect data or information test specific hypothesis. E. g. experiment to measure the effect of vitamin c. Variable factor that may change independent variables. Variable not changed by the researcher may change during experiment and is being measure in the experiment.
