Dog people tend to score higher on the big ve personality traits test as higher on extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness, but lower on neuroticism and opens than cat people do. Researchers are so interested in the study of personality because it an help predict what a person will do. Psychologists have approached the topic of personality from many perspectives, traditionally it was dominated by grand theories. Personality: refers to a person"s unique constellation of consistent behavioural traits. The concept of personality is used to explain: The stability in a person"s behaviour over time and across situations (consistency) The behavioural differences among people reacting to the same situation (distinctiveness) Distinctiveness is central to the concept of personality. Personality trait: a durable disposition to behave in a particular way in a variety of situations.
