It influences what is done within a political system and therefore demand investigation. Includes feelings people have toward the overall political community of canada. Consists of the ideas, assumptions, values, and beliefs that shape out understanding and behavior as citizens in the world of politics. Political culture determines what is normal and acceptable and what is not. Observing and individuals are the two ways to analyze political culture. According to horowitz, the canadian political culture is dominated by liberalism, but it is accompanied by significant touches of conservatism and socialism. Formative events theory: the dominant values of any society have their foundation in great historical events. Democracy"s definition usually includes popular sovereignty, political equality, political freedom and majority rule. Popular sovereignty: the people have the final say. Representative democracy: elected officials and appointed authorities made decisions on their behalf.
