Constructivist approach: media is a mirror; society shapes the media: re-presentation: the act of putting ideas into words, images, symbols, and texts. Putting texts into context: major part of critical thinking, reading, analysis. When you make media you have power. When you critically consume media and understand rhetoric you gain access to power. Assignment #1: due january 28th, 2015, hard copy, pick a topic from cct109, write a research question, detail the plan for researching and writing the essay, write an outline, bibliography in apa style. Using language effectively to persuade, inform, educate, or entertain.
