Lecture 7 development of body systems (ch. Integumentary system (skin: cytodifferentiation: is the level of individual cells, in which the cells that make up a tissue undergo increasing specialization. A cell can give many types of cells at an early age of development; however if a cell is a trophoblast as an example, then it can differentiate only to a cytotrophoblast (has a specific function) cytodifferentiation. Restriction and determination leads to cytodifferentiation: histogenesis: various cell types develop in concert to form specific tissues; (are already differentiated cells) Cells come together to form tissues; cell already present or migrate to their specific location: the skin is one of the largest structures in the body, and its structure is adapted for local functional requirements (scalp and palms). These local variations result from inductive ectoderm and underlying mesenchyme. The skin is the same, but its shape is adapted for its head)
