Document Summary

Decomposition of complex organic material is fundamental for nutrient uptake in plants. C, o, h are a separate category. Now we are talking about a different category. Plants have around 20 nutrients that they need, used in small quantities. Macronutrients: nitrogen (n), potassium (k), phosphorus (p: these are used a lot but often not ample in the environment, nitrogen and phosphorus are a major agricultural. Almost all nutrients are taken up by the root dissolved in soil water. Unless the ingredients are broken down, it cannot be absorbed: with the exception of organic amino acids (small materials) Majority of nitrogen plants use are internally recycled. Beetles disrupt the plants internal recycling, nitrogen goes into the beetle instead of to the plant. No matter how much is recycled, must uptake new material via roots. Way it is taken up is different from water. Taken up as small, charged inorganic molecules.
