Document Summary

To maintain the blood pressure, but not to the level when the blood leaves the heart, the arteries as they travel away from the heart, they will be able to maintain the pressure. Arterial system: because the arteries have muscular layers, they will be able to (3 on slide) If blood pressure is lower, the blood pressure will be lowered, the smooth muscle will be stimulated so there will be contraction. If the blood pressure is higher, the smooth muscle will relax and there will be dilation, this will reduce the blood pressure. Capillary pressure: there will be reabsorption after the filtration, but the reabsorption is less than what was filtrates. In the lymph nodes, there is elimination of foreign materials, for example cancer cells. If lymph nodes are swollen, the cancer cells are trapped there. Lymphatic vessels will just go back and drain into the major veins.
