Document Summary

Can survive in aquatic and terrestrial environment. Study of how structures and function of body work together to allow for behavioral response to environment. Environment such as deep snow makes it hard for scavenging but strong hairing for a young arctic fox can help it hear faint sounds. Smaller ear , nose to preserve hear. Capillaries structures on feet to preserve heat and gas exchange. Decreased metabolic activity so they are not hungry. Leaping / jumping to get the prey. Fetal development can affect physiology, anatomy and behavior. Environment impacts development, but also impacts natural selection by reproduction. Environment affects the structures of an animal. More dense, more viscous (but body is supported by buoyancy) Fish have to move water through gills which is hard as it requires an expenditure in energy. Limiting factor as without oxygen many metabolic pathways would not occur.
