Non-compliance = drastic effect of response to drug from simply missing one dose of. Accumulation of small non-compliance can affect response to drug in the long the medication term (ex. taking it an hour later than you are supposed to) Disease doesn"t cause direct effect but in the long term could cause problems. Patients forget to take medication (symptoms serve as reminder!) More frequent dose administration (ex. / 4 times a day) = less likely to be compliant. Chronic diseases (ex. / pain, arthritis): may continuously change medications in hope. Short term acute relief is the goal but since it doesn"t always happen, people than of finding a better one don"t rely on medications. Difficulty of opening medication bottles (ex. / elderly patients) No asking questions because doctors/authority have more knowledge or disbelief in vaccines etc. Patient shares equal stake in their own health - most important - and need the assistance of health care professionals.
