Chapter two and three; cover the last two weeks. As a social scientist we do two things: explore, describe how things happen, explain (the difference between explain and understand, key happens. Causation; certain things that happen, and they follow a certain path. Example; squeezing your arm, the nerve sends a message to your brain, your brain sending you a message to yourself to say hey this hurts, you should stop. [referendum in ontario failed. (research topic from someone else) With regard to its methods, validity, and scope. Epistemology is the investigation of what distinguishes justified belief from opinion. Ontology; the branch of metaphysics dealing with the nature of being. These two are embedded in the philosophy of sciences. We all have a different perspective of how we see the world, these two concepts are questions we ask, these are theories of scientist. It"s a question and theory of finding knowledge.
