Blink: eyes close in response to bright light or loud noise. Moro: throws its arms out and then inward (as if embracing) in response to loud noise or when its head falls: may help a baby cling to its mother. Palmar: grasps an object placed in the palm of its hand: precursor to voluntary walking. Rooting: when the cheek is stroked, it turns its head towards the stroking and opens ints mouth: helps nd the nipple. Stepping: when held upright by an adult and moved forward, it beings to step rhythmically: precursor to voluntary walking. Sucking: sucks when an object is placed in its moth: permits feeding. Alert inactivity: calm with eyes open and attentive, deliberately inspecting the environment. Waking activity: eyes are open but unfocused, limbs move in bursts of uncoordinated motion.
