Document Summary
Criticized by aristotle for making money from an apparent wisdom. Two streams: nature is good, civilization is bad. By nature, all men are equal, they become only unequal by class made institutions (social and political institutions): nature is beyond good and evil, by nature, all men are unequal (not everyone is the same, equal). Morality was an invention of the weak to limit and deter the strong. Socrates can"t accept it because he believes in a different type of virtue. Believed aristocracy was the best form of government. The invention of the strong was to chain and rule the weak. A sophist is a seller of the goods, by which a soul and mind are entitled to, should not be trusted. By accepting money, they have deprived themselves of their intellectual freedom and honesty. Claims by not accepting money he is free to roam by himself and hang out with and talk to whom he choses.
