Headaches, dizziness, lump or swelling, neck pain or lowered rom, pruritus: systemic. Weight changes, temp tolerance changes or sweating, energy changes: external. Anything we talk about on the skull we use the underlying bones to describe. Sternocleidomastoid divides the neck into two triangles for us (anterior and posterior) Skull: does their head look normal size and shape. Face: symmetrical, parotid glands can get stones- very painful especially with sweet food, bell"s palsy. Neck: symmetry, rom (ruling out nuchal ridgidity- stiffness of neck in meningitis, trachea should be midline- if not midline there could be a tumour moving it, a collapsed llung (pneumothorax. Lymph nodes- infected ones are inflamed, painful, mobile, smoot, 2 cm or less, cancerous ones are fixed and firm and larger. Inflamed supraclavicular lymph node is danger, means something within the trunk has an issue. Pmhx: any changes in your vision, ocular problems, glaucoma, use of glasses, diabetes, menopause, htn, medication (steroids, anticholinergics, inhaled medications, allergies.
