Tourism is the third concept in the eld standalone discipline but can be apart of leisure and recreation. Universal agreement on the de nition of tourism. The unwto (united nationals world tourism organisation) Came up with a de nition for tourism: as the activities of persons away from their usual environment for a period of no more than one year and for any purpose of travel except commuting to work or school. Tourism refers to travel at least 80 km away from home or travel across an international border. Looks at the purposes of travel: work (business meeting, conferences, medical, religious, personal matters (wedding, visiting friends and family, pleasure (leisure travel) Tourism is linked with leisure and recreation which produces a lot of leisure services. Produces a number of services and industries food and beverages services (restaurant) recreation and entertainment: transportation (airlines, rail, boat, bike, car, etc. , accommodation (hotel, motel, etc. ) 4: travel agencies and tour operators, sightseeing, convention services.
