Experimental research dens allows: the researcher to observe causation. (i. e. male/female servers, ambiance in room, food pricing) (things don"t change) Causation hinders on 3 conditions: temporal order . Change in the indepen vari (iv) must occur before the depen vari (dv) As values in the iv increase, the dv measures vary systematically: zero alternative explanations. Nothing but the treatment variable/ iv must in uence the dv: procedures a la classical experimental design: Find a sampling frame-- select a sample size: random assignment. Experimental group: pretest to report information before you conduct the experiment, to make no changes at the beginning.
