Fish population that live in poor qlty water, can breathe thru lungs, skin and gills resp wont work. Thats why we know lung fish are ancestor to group and that the amphibians, come from group living and survive, fresh water, all amphibians are all freshwater. Devonian -- followed by carbonefours wet and swampy time. Period of time, dampness and moisture, believe amphibians started transition to land, stronger skeleton, resp system all have lungs, but don"t always use, going to make some transition to land. Vertebrae, original spinal column of fish, isn"t adequate anymore, open tin of salmon, always disc like, held in place by body musculature, this thing never dealt with real pressure other than ungulation of tail. If move up on land and attatch apendicular skeleton and push up we cant have these discs, they will slide past e. other.
