Document Summary

4 - major physical properties of terrestrial ecosystems. Some ascending air flows to the south, makes air circulation cell (same on other side but north) At top of atmosphere, maximized at 0 degree latitude. Rain falls, warm air rises, more water in warm air, moisture in air condenses, heavy rain. Sun heats air at equator for warm air. Results in high biomass place, tropical rain forests etc. Around 30 degrees north and south of equator have air that lost their moisture --> deserts. Cause apparent deflection of winds clockwise in the n hemisphere and counter clockwise in the s. Earth is spinning on axis, close to axis, slower, farther from axis, faster because more circumference to travel. Means air columns move up and down as well as side to side. Maximal around 30 degree n and 30 degree s. At equator, is sunny but has lots of cloud cover.
