Biology wasn"t coined as a term or described until the 1800s. Biology is all about living organisms interaction with the world around - biotic and abiotic. Bio all about manifestations of life in it"s various forms, and the things or conditions controlling it"s existence and how it affects those living things. Up until biology was created everyone was considered a naturalist. Proteomics is understanding how the proteins work. Some of the biggest innovations in bio have occurred in the last 40 to 50 years. Didn"t get to see the genomic code working in it"s entirety until the last 10 to 20 years. Darwin validates a non mathematic descriptive science (bio) as being scienti cally rigorous making him a large turning point in biology. Before darwin it is typical to divide science into three periods. Greek and roman: greeks and romans were a major impact force in western culture.
