ADM 3360 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Canadian Human Rights Act, Independent Contractor, Labour Law
Document Summary
Employment law notes for law 3360 university of ottawa. Employment law and laws effecting the workplace in general are very important to the conduct of business. The great majority of business organizations both big and small must hire and terminate employees in order to carry on business. A considerable amount of employment law is focused on these two activities. As well, the ongoing employment relationship and the functioning of the workplace is significantly effected by laws dealing from issues as diverse as human rights, health and safety, minimum terms of employment, employment equity, pay equity and privacy law. One lecture on employment law cannot begin to address all of the issues that arise from the above noted areas of law. Many other areas can only be referred to in passing just so that you know they exist. For exam purposes, you are responsible for these notes and the material that we review in the lecture.
