Chapter 4: reviewing the scholarly literature and planning a study. Carefully crafted summary of the recent studies conducted on a topic that includes key findings and methods researchers used while making sure to document the sources. Periodicals: mass market publications, scholarly journals (find a meta-review or scoping review, and you"re in good starting form! Other types of periodicals (e. g. , macleans, the economist). Is a different task from a literature review! Marsden (2010) conducted a study on racial profiling in one canadian city. Using field observational methods, they were able to document a disproportionately greater number. 2 of black males being pulled over or questioned on the street by police during a one-month period in 2009. All observations were conducted in higher populated areas of the city and were conducted at various times of the day: annotated bibliography the citation. Immigrants have been found to consistently earn less than their canadian-born counterparts (porter, 2005: 34).
