Document Summary
Learning curve on launchpad (due sunday 16 11:59) Ppl couldn"t tell so someone took a lot of pictures, so could observe and see if its true. Explaining whole set of events instead of one specific one. When explaining why a friend isn"t here, when one gives a specific scenario, that is not a theory bc a theory is a generalized statement. Hypothesis (has to be able to be proven wrong!) Theory proven was not right, had to update the theory. Therefore, if bats cannot hear, they cannot navigate. Hyp: deaf bats should not be able to navigate. Observation: deaf bat able navigate: theory is wrong, deaf bat not able to navigate: observation is consistent w theory but that does not mean the theory is true. Cannot account for all the bats in the world, no way of knowing if its actually true! Cannot observe everyone so draw samples instead. We the the world as it is.
