Appetite changes (weight loss or gain unrelated to dieting) Sleep issues (trouble sleeping or sleeping too much) Increase in purposeless physical activity (e. g. handwringing or pacing) Slowed movements and speech (actions observable by others) Certain medical conditions may mimic the above symptoms (need to be rule out) Women (15-44 years old) bear the greatest burden. Depression can strike at any time , but usually in late teens to mid-20s. At any given time, approximately 1 in 20 canadians suffer from clinical depression. Painful waves occur intermixed with positive memories of deceased.
