Empiricism it"s not data unless it can be detected by your 5 senses. Verstehen = german for having an empathetic understanding put yourself in someone else"s shoes, seek to understand their life (how they identify themselves, why they do what they do, e. t. c. ) You need to enter their environment and get lived experience to get an empathetic understanding (how they interpret words, behaviour, goals) Descriptive describe who, when, where, how: all about creating a profile. Exploratory little understood topics: process of exploring things, directed at things we don"t really understand well/don"t know much about (need to conduct research to find out) Explanatory explain why something occurs: answering the why + whether a theoretical explanation can be applied. Evaluation assess a policy, practice, or program: basically assessing the consequences of something + what is causing the outcome. Descriptive who uses facebook, in what way are they using it (sharing stuff that other people posted, looking at pictures) .
