46 views7 pages

Document Summary

The taking of human life in an ordinary case is wrong. Thus, in the ordinary circumstance, it is wrong to kill a fetus through abortion. People being a social, rational, and cognitive being. Fetus has no rights and therefore no right to life. Anti abortion argument: infants and mental impaired people are not social rational or cognitive beings and therefore they should also not have rights seems absurd. Pro abortion argument: if the taking of human life is wrong, then we should not be able to human life such as tumors or cancer cells not logical. Neither side of the debate is going to accept the basic principles of the other side of the debate. Abortion is a controversial political and philosophical issue. Instead of starting with the fetus, discuss the issue of why it is wrong to kill others generally.
