Wrongness of killing persons: persons have interests that non-persons that don"t have, or interests that are stronger. Perusing projects, goals, plans, relationships, children: powerful interests. Total view vs prior existence view: total view. Take into account the interests of beings that can come into existence by actions. Actions you could take that could bring other beings into existence should be judged by taking into account the interests of the beings brought into existence. Must consider the interests of the ones that will come into existence by that action taken: prior existence view. Counts only the beings that exist prior to decision being made. The being that is being discussed does not exist so decisions cannot be made to take their interests into account. The thing that satisfies the mother"s interest will bring the greatest satisfaction overall: the mother"s interests outweigh the interests of the fetus so abortion will bring fulfill more interests than keeping the child, interests:
