After nero gets assassinated we have the year 68 ce which is known as the year of the four emperors. Generals come in within the power vacuum and name themselves emperor. His son titus is most famous sacking of the temple etc. Domitian (81-96 ce) under him that we have first major economic crisis with inflation throughout the empire. Flavians hold the throne for about 30 years. An amphitheater is a theatre on both sides (circular, freestanding) Designed for entertaining the roman people and giving back to them. Sections have been taken away and fallen into disrepair. Wasn"t the largest stadium in rome, that was the circus maximus which was their race track (ben hur) could have held 250,000 people putting it in the top 5 of all time. The first permanent amphitheatre in rome and it is the biggest. Entire thing is made of concrete, reinforced with tufa and faced with travertine.
