The mass media plays a big role in answering these questions. The state also plays a big role in youth crime. Our own experience: we understand youth crime by what we were doing when we were young. Offending patterns, victimization patterns: who you hang with, who you don"t hang with. Mass media: digital age, a visual source of information.
