Measuring discrimination: the difference threshold: definition (jnd) If a person is saying no they do not hear a noise it is more difficult for them to begin to say yes even if they may hear a noise because they are so use to saying no. This theory exists in the opposite manner as well. The method of adjustment: it is similar to an intensity dial, you start with a loud sound and then can turn the dial down until they can no longer hear it. Can be done by the subject or researcher. The method of limits: is more reliable, you are more likely to get the same results if you test twice. 3 100 times and so on in a random order. You would measure the percentage of time the person would perceive it. The percentage of each time would be recorded. Until you get the one that they hear all the time.
