Document Summary
Richard lavoie video- learning disabilities: the real challenge is educating those who don"t have one. Philosophy- a value or belief of how to treat/work with. All negative reinforcement does is stop the behaviour but does not change it. Positive reinforcement aids in changing behaviour, negative feedback does not. Performance inconsistency - learning disabled child good days and bad days o. The learning abilities of the kids, parents and teachers have to accept and acknowledge good days and bad days. Forced apologies- bad idea- asking kid to lie if they aren"t sorry- can suggest they apologize but don"t force them to do it. Children learn their morals and values based on what they see adults do not by what we tell them. Cheap shots- teacher asking kid if they behave for substitute, kid says yes- lies, teacher says well i have a list of things you did.
