The earlier forms (1930s) of education focused on purity education or nature study". children were taught the biological aspect of sexuality to reproductive while also being taught abstinence before marriage and procreational sex. This was also taught to lessen the spread of disease ( stis) after wwi. Quebec was the only province to fully remove the sexual health program in 2005. In 1960-1970s, there was very little sexual health education. In 1980s and 1990s, with higher occurrences of hiv/ aids, school sexual health education became mandatory. Sexual health education often receives little time and attention in classrooms.
